Following the leak of the picture of the new Fiesta a few days ago Ford have officially released their incredibly popular hatchback.
Ford revealed 4 trims levels the Titanium (from what we gather is the ‘regular one’), the Vignale (a more luxurious fashionable model), the ST-Line (this is just the sports trim, not the hot hatch) and a crossover called the Active.
Hey look, new Ford Fiestas…
The new cars are longer and wider than the siblings they are replacing, giving them a more athletic squat. All the engine options haven’t been revealed however, mention was made, that their 1.0 litre inline 3 cylinder motor will now feature cylinder deactivation to further improve efficiency. All models now get disc brakes at the rear.
The interior most notably gets a ‘floating’ touch screen which Ford very proudly state allows 20 fewer buttons in the cabin than before. The cabin should also be notably quieter and there’s more space for the passengers in the rear.
All sorts of advanced safety systems are now offered in the Fiesta, including park assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist.
No details as to when the models will hit South African shores as of yet but what do you guys think of the styling? Is the Active crossover lame? Which one would you have? Leave a comment below.
