So, you have some spare cash lying around and you really like the already limited Ferrari 458 Speciale. I mean, what’s not to love, 4.5 litre V8 track ready beast that will devour most supercars on the track, and well on the road too. It is limited, so the chances of your neighbour having one is rather slim too. Remember that scene from Gone in 60 seconds:
Memphis: Roger, I have a problem…
Roger the Car Salesman: Yes?
Memphis: I’ve been in L.A. for three months now. I have money, I have taste. But I’m not on anybody’s “A” list, and Saturday night is the loneliest night for the week for me.
Roger the Car Salesman: Well, a Ferrari would certainly change that.
Memphis: Perhaps, Mmmm. But, you know, this is the one. Yes, yes yes… I saw three of these parked outside the local Starbucks this morning, which tells me only one thing. There’s too many self-Indulgent wieners in this city with too much bloody money! Now, if I was driving a 1967 275 GTB four-cam…
Roger the Car Salesman: You would not be a self-indulgent wiener, sir… You’d be a connoisseur.
Memphis: Precisely. Champagne would fall from the heavens. Doors would open. Velvet ropes would part.
Yes, well let’s face it, if you get your hands on a 458 Speciale, you don’t need to worry about seeing and 3 in 1 night when you’re out on the town, that’s how special it is.
So why then would you order one, and then modify it to be completely 1 of a kind. Doesn’t that take away everything Ferrari tried to do when they originally designed, built and sold the car? Make it limited?
Gentleman and Hoonigans, we bring you the first ever Ferrari 458 Speciale on GFG wheels. Now that is not all that is owner has customised, they have added bits of carbon fibre accessories including fender vents, headlight bezels, side aero blades with extra winglets, rear apron and rear diffuser. We are in 2 minds about this car. We can’t argue that it doesn’t look great, but that is like saying Jessica Biel doesn’t look at hot as when she is wearing a skin tight dress, or hot pants. Either way, she will still look hot.
I guess we would have preferred if the owner had done this to a 458 Italia instead of the Speciale. The Speciale is something, well special, directly from Ferrari and shouldn’t be tampered with unless the guys at Ferrari added it onto the car for you.
Here are the pics, let us know what you think…
